I have heard from four more people who have been victimized starting in May.  It appears Mr. Dieth has been working his scams within the watch community.  

One victim told me that the police are involved, making him the second person to report matters to the police.  My hope is that this cheat will eventually be brought to justice.  Good luck!

For those of you who have tried to reach Mr. Dieth via email without any results, here are alternatives on how he can be reached :

Oh, one final item.  It seems that Mr. Dieth has an accomplice who helps with the funds.  Victims are told to wire payment to another person's bank account, a Ms. Melanie Wild who is also known as Melanie Smith.  Since ID is needed to get money, Melanie Wild must be the real name, so beware that such payments to this person are likely to be irrecoverable.

You will find this very amusing as it appears the above post has struck a nerve with Mr. Dieth!  Today I received his responses.

What is interesting here is the IP address of 84.148.219.26, which is the machine that submitted the web-browser email to the freemail.web.de mail server.  Here is what I found about its location:

With a location in Bamberg, take a guess who might be this person?  

It is even possible that this is his own PC from home.  The ISP is none other than the German phone company, so my guess is that he is a DSL subscriber for Internet connectivity

The subject line is obviously threatening that there will be more libel cast in my name, and that this is just the beginning of the attack.  Since I have no idea what this was about and not knowing the sender, I tried to ask for specifics but only received a non-delivery report stating that the email is unanswerable.  

A libelous email from out of nowhere from someone you don't know will probably not be taken seriously by most people  My guess is that Mr. Dieth finally realized this too and so he was kind enough to give me a hint and I got this next email.

2.  Second email from a Susan McKinley who wrote:

The email is also unanswerable.

BTW the two attached images are of me and my friend Lee Chait, ex-US DOJ retiree.  How kind, but I am not the one who tries to hide from anyone.

Note the subject line trying to extort the proper response from me.  Of course I know who they are!  :-)  This email only confirms that my website's updated Hall of Shame story about Mr. Dieth and this very page is at question.  He wants me to remove this from the website.

Instead I am choosing to record all contact I have with him or about him when I hear from more victims.  Perhaps one day these records will  be used as an account of his actions in a court of law.

Do you notice the coincidence?  This second email originated from the very same IP address used to send the first threatening email to me.

3. Via telephone call to me, twice no less!

Here is the very first phone call I received today.  As you can see the phone number was recorded by Caller ID.

Mr. Dieth must have realized his mistake of not hiding his phone number so he quickly hung up leaving no message and there was no one to respond to my greeting.

Unfortunately for him, the international call from Germany (+49 country code) has left a trace on my phone, my telephone carrier, and even his own carrier in Germany.   Such phone records will prove useful in a court of law.

Did you notice that the phone number shown here is identical to the one I reported at the top of this page?

 
Less than 10 seconds later (time stamp is still 3:07pm) came the second call, and this time his number is masked so it shows up as "Unknown" on my phone.  Like I said, he realized his mistake in the first call which he made with his phone number in full display.

The caller was male and he spoke for mere seconds.  All he said was:

"Look at Pen Trace.  We know who you are."

I should hope so, after all he's the one calling me and I'm not the one hiding!

Even though the phone number is hidden,  I'm sure the German phone company has records.  After all they do have to bill him for the international call, right?

Can you guess who could be the caller?   All I can say is hello Patrick Dieth!

4. Libelous post on Pen Trace

So this post on Pen Trace was the retaliation from Mr. Dieth.  Well I finally looked and here is a snapshot that I took before the good folks at Pen Trace removed the entire thread.  Pen Trace also banned "mohammedY".

One Pen Tracer even guessed who this might be!  I guess there are many more people who have fallen victim.  I invite them all to email me so I can post on my website.

 

My final thoughts in this update is an open letter to Mr. Dieth

First of all, thank you for your response.  You confirmed the information about your location and phone number!

You have cheated many people in the pen community with me among them.  This is a small community so word spreads quickly.   The only solution is for you to begin by settling with all your victims -- either give them their merchandise or return their money with interest.  That includes your own father, according to what I heard.

The more you play your games and cheat people, the more you will have to look over your shoulder.  The law is getting closer to you.

Today I received the following email from Melanie Wild, early in the morning for me as Germany is 6 hours ahead.


And here is my response.

With all Ms. Wild's anger and indignation over seeing her name on my website, I am really hoping for her reply with the police information.  Naturally I will verify the contact information to insure that the person is really the police since it is against the law to falsely represent oneself as being police just as it is in the USA.  If it is false, then there will be even more charges against Mr. Dieth and his accomplices.

I received no response yet from Melanie Wild as of 1pm my local time (7pm in Germany).

Still no response from Melanie Wild as of 1:30pm my local time (7:30pm in Germany) even though the threatened Oct 20th deadline has passed.  And to think I was so excited at the possibility of bringing my fraud case and those of many other victims to the attention of the local German police.

More than a week after an indignant Melanie Wild sent her email demanding I remove the information I posted or else the police will be notified, I still have not received her response.   So I sent her another email at 5:30pm my local time (11:30pm in Germany).

I'm trying to give this person some understanding but her silence does have certain implications --- in spite of her protests, she is involved with Patrick Dieth in perpetrating fraud .  Let's see if I hear from her (or Patrick) with the local police contact in Bramberg.

Nearly three weeks have elapsed since my second email to Ms. Melanie Wild, and I have received no response whatsoever.  The silence is telling, and does not give her much credibilty.  For all her indignation and demand, she's suspiciously quiet about getting something started with the local police, a move that I welcome.
